Letting Go, Surrender & Center

Happy New Year! I haven’t written a real blog entry in a while of any substance, & I don’t know that this will be much better! :)

Life has been obviously busy (seen in my lack of writing), with the holidays & recent new responsibilities at church in leading one of our worship services & choir, not to mention all the changes, unknowns, & things to learn along the way.

God’s been using this time to take me out of my comfort zone in many ways, especially as I’m not one who likes to deal with unknowns. In fact, I’m one of those who likes to be prepared way in advance, & that can’t happen at this current time in most any way, shape or form.

This past Sunday, our student/discipleship pastor preached at both services. The gist of his sermon was that we need to put God in the center of every single thing in our lives, instead of trying to give God more & more time & first priority. Because it is humanly impossible to give God enough time always, & also impossible to truly decide when we’ve actually given God enough time in the first place, putting Him at the center of absolutely everything — from work to family to even relaxation & leisure time — is the way to surrender to absolutely all to Him!

Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.1 Corinthians 10:31 (NASB)

Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.Colossians 3:17 (MSG)

Other things I’ve been reading on this snowy morning from RELEVANT Magazine:

I wish all of your a wonderful, God-centered new year & pray that He will bless you & your families in every area of need!
