The Bride Made Herself Ready

While listening to one of the talks online from the OneThing 2008 conference, the following really struck me.

Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.
(Revelation 19:7)

We aren’t supposed to be passive. It’s so clear. The bride made herself ready. The next verse says:

It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
(Revelation 19:8)

It was given to her to… It was given to her to… given to her TO To do something it seems!

Wow. We have to do our part. 2 Peter 1:3 says:

Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received!
(The Message Bible)

As are my own prayers, seek God with all your heart. Let no hindrance get in the way. Invite Him to draw you closer and closer to Him every day. Let His Holy Spirit teach and guide you in life with Him, so that as His bride, you will be preparing yourself for the day of His coming to be blameless and pure in every aspect, growing to love Him more and more every moment!

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
(Jeremiah 29:13)

I know you had written this back in December but I thought it was interesting that I read it today. God just recently reminded me of Jeremiah 29:13. Reading it on your blog was a confirmation to me. I had been looking at 1 Corinthians 14:1 and seeing that I should seek to flow in prophecy. What I missed was the “earnestly desire” part, the seeking with the whole heart part. :)
