My soul longs, yes, even faints and pines for the courts of my God…homesick for my Beloved.
(paraphrase of Psalm 84:2)
We long, we yearn, we look for the Day of His returning when we will be together in fullness; we live for that Day.
Let us long, yearn, and pant for our God more than for all other things and all other wants, for we belong to You, Lord. Only You can satisfy the hungry heart, only You can satisfy–for we were made for You and only You can fill that place within that longs, yearns and aches to be filled.
My heart and flesh cry out… they cry out for You, the Living God. (paraphrase)
Love is so much more! Love is a choice, love is a lifestyle, and most of all: Love is a Person. Love is God – because God is Love! He is Love! When we fellowship with Him, we are fellowshipping with Love Himself; is this not what we all long for — Love?
Are you longing for something deep within? Going after things which do not ever seem to be enough or really touch that place inside deeply? Look no further. Love Himself, Jesus, is waiting and ready. Come to Him. Stop your searching in the wrong places and come to Him and just be. He just wants to be with you, and when you “be” with Him, all the rest will be taken care of.
He, the One who loves and who Himself is Love, will cause your deepest desire to be met and your soul to be purified time after time of being with Him, being with Love Himself.
Such beautiful times to be had!
Come, come to the waters. Drink, and thirst no more! Buy without money–He’s already paid the price. Just come, come. Be with Him who is Love and who thirsts to be with You. You do thirst for Him, you do, you do! Just come, and find what you are truly hungry for. He gives of His Spirit to live in You. He comes to be with you even as we await full union with Him to come at the end of the age.
Our tears of longing are a message, a message to Him of our longing and our need for Him alone who can help and meet our needs. Let it flow, let it come, don’t hold back. He loves to fill your thirst for Him.
Passing through the Valley of Weeping (Baca), they make it a place of springs; the early rain also fills [the pools] with blessings. (Psalm 84:6 AMP)
Our thirst, our hunger, our longings are a rain that make our lives full with growing springs where His blessings arise, His response to our cries for more of Him and to be more beautiful in Him. Our tears like water nourish our souls and water our hearts, tenderizing them for God. They make our hearts more ready a place for His presence to touch us and change us more and more deeply.
For even the sparrow has found a home…even Your altars, O Lord, my God and my King…
For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else].
(paraphrase of Psalm 84:3, 10)
