Childlike Trust: A Prayer & Pondering

Father God,

You are exceedingly beautiful. I want to be beautiful as You are, pouring out from Your heart and Your love with pureness of heart and motive. More than anything, I want myself and others to grow as lovers of You, Your Son Jesus, and Your Holy Spirit; and second, that we love ourselves and others as You have so loved us and always do.

Anoint our hearts to know (by experience) Your love and Your heart, and in turn, let us fall in love with You all the more. Let it not be so much about heightened feeling, but an intimate love relationship with You our Father, Jesus our Bridegroom, and Your Spirit who is our Teacher, Helper, Counselor and more.

You alone know the hearts of all. You also know best our willing spirits paired with weak flesh, and our minds in the process of being renewed. May the prayers that Your Son prayed in John 17 be done. Make us one as You are one, and may we truly know You, Your character, Your heart and Your glory.

In knowing Your glory, let it not be as some ethereal thing in our silly human definitions or religious notions which are not in harmony with the mind of Christ, but the glorious knowledge of who You are as the Father above all fathers, possessing a perfect heart of sacrificial love. There is no shadow of turning nor any deceit in Your heart…

“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].” James 1:17 (AMP)

Help us, Your people, to cease from complicating things in a pride-driven lust for knowledge or stature, as some appear to be in pursuit of, even those called by Your name; in doing so they make You seem out of reach when Your very heart aches for companionship with us above so-called spiritual experiences, knowledge and formulas.

Let us know Your heart in this and humble ourselves before You, seeking to never place a stumbling block in others’ way, but to instead show them just how much You yearn for a relationship with them. May they know You rightly by our rightful expression of Your heart and Your arms open wide with unfailing love for all who come to Jesus.

I hear Jesus say again in my heart, “Let the little children come to Me…” Others wanted to keep them away as if these dear ones would be a distraction or burden to You and Your mission. Furthermore, I am reminded also that You tell us we must be as children to enter Your Kingdom:

Childlike faith,
childlike trust,
childlike hope,
knowing full well that You love us, Your beloved children.

“…I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you repent [that is, change your inner self—your old way of thinking, live changed lives] and become like children [trusting, humble, and forgiving], you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.Matthew 18:3 (AMP)

Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.'” Matthew 19:14 (NKJV)
