Come to the Feast

Jesus has set a table of extraordinary delicacies before us, beloved ones.

He anoints your head with the oil of gladness and fills your cup so that it overflows without ceasing. In the joyous times and in the painful moments, despite the trials and persecution of life, He want to continually feed you with the knowledge of Himself and His love (Psalm 23:5). Feed upon His faithfulness.

All are welcome to come to Him. You who hunger and thirst for true love, beauty and authenticity are welcome to come. There is no cost, no perfect performance required, for He has paid the price. All He wants is your heart, so come freely to receive of His (Isaiah 55:1-3).

Everyone is welcomed with open arms if they will willingly set all aside and come to Him.

You need never settle for lesser things or constantly run to others as you desire to feel loved or to feel whole. You are worth far more: Jesus desires to give you of His love, peace and joy… of Himself.

He has a feast of the knowledge of who He is waiting for you. It is an intimate knowing that will truly satisfy your longing heart, for there are even more exhilarating depths of His heart He delights to shown you.

Simply come aside to that alone place with Him, day after day. It can your room, your closet, your car, a park or under a blanket when a place of solitude is no where to be found. Come to the Lord, beloved; say no to the lesser invitations and every other “feast” offered which cannot quench the ache inside. Taste of His goodness prepared especially for you. He will meet you there. He delights to be with you.

Even if you don’t feel this truth within your soul, refuse to allow how you feel to cancel out the unalterable truth of His delight in you.

If you need an idea of where to begin in conversation with Him, Psalm 23 is a good place to begin. It is often read at funerals but this Psalm is not even mostly about such; it is a Psalm of His promises to us on this side of eternity and rich with expressions of His love, care and leadership over our lives.

Ask God’s Spirit to lead you and bring revelation to your heart as you partake of the feast He has prepared just for you.

Go slow, take time to just soak in His presence and words to you. Enjoy His company as you ask Him about each verse or phrase along the way, a little today, a little the next, and journal what arises within your heart.

May the oil of His beautiful heart of love saturate you through and through. May you grow in the place of knowing Him intimately as your most cherished Friend.

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You have anointed and refreshed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell forever [throughout all my days] in the house and in the presence of the Lord.” (Psalm 23:5-6 AMP 2015)
