Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

Many of us are troubled, unsettled and even anxious right now. I too have felt the same at times. Amid the rumors of wars, plaques and more, our world is not an enjoyable place to be. Panic and unknowns abounding, our world is a no blissful place in its sin-laden, fallen state.

In that, I want to share some of the verses the Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance from the words of Christ Jesus:

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.” (John 14:1-3 ESV)

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27 ESV)

Remember, this world is not our destination and final home, our Lord and His dwelling place are. No matter what we are facing, it is not our final outcome. No matter the troubles that plague our world (literally right now!), we are safe because this is not our place of living forever.

Even if we personally experience the effects of such trying troubles, they are not our end. For the believer, our end is with God, and that end is only the beginning of a paradisal life with Him for eternity.

We can fight fear with the words He spoke also to His disciples:

“…if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also” (John 14:3), so I can stop letting my heart be troubled, agitated, unsettled or afraid (John 14:27). Take heart, sons and daughters of God.
