Releasing God’s encouragement to souls in need.

Greatest Refreshing

The Lord is with you always, for all who call upon the name of Jesus shall be saved.

He is your exceeding great Reward and Resurrection life. He is your Beloved and your greatest refreshing, drawing you deeper into His warm embrace.

He is not cold, stubborn or distant. His heart is giving, kind and generous. His mind is filled with love-thoughts toward you, not harm or hate.

His eyes are searching to and fro, searching you out and searching within, looking deep into your heart, knowing every part of you.

He searches you not so He can pick at you or condemn you, but so He can show you that He cares for you; so He can heal every hurt no matter how big, no matter how small.

He loves you. More than the sparrows, you are to Him: valued, desired, loved.

Loved When All You Can Do Is Be

Some days are harder than others. We face challenges. We fight issues that change the course of the day. Perhaps a loved one is sick or we ourselves deal with chronic pain, and healing has not yet come.

Or maybe we watch others never seeming to experience hardship, as we face them daily, perhaps even for years.

Know this: Through it all, Father God sees you. He loves you. You don’t have to measure up to any standard but His. He’s not looking at the struggles; He’s looking st your heart.

Even when all you can do is simply be, you are loved by God.

It doesn’t look the same for someone else as it might for you. He knows the trials, the pain, the weaknesses before you. He knows you are overwhelmed. He doesn’t expect you to be a super hero. He invites you to trust His hand and rest in His arms.

Maybe no one else will hear or see, but God sees you. You, seemingly little not-as-successful-as-another you, you matter to Him. He hears every prayer, He sees every tear. He is a Father, and He loves you better than anyone else ever could.

Even if life is such a challenge that all you can do is simply be with Him, He’s okay with that. He knows you inside and out, through the good and the difficult. He wants your heart more than your performance.

Many others are out busily doing for every other purpose under the sun, but even in the difficulties before you, you are still pressing into Him. By the very nature of your call for help, you are drawing near to Him!

Just being with Him. This counts far more than you know, beloved. It counts with Him! Your mind and heart turned to Him is more precious than all the world in His eyes. You are His precious and dearly beloved son or daughter.

He cares for you better than any earthly parent, pastor, mentor or friend could manage to muster up. He pours His love upon you. Our Abba sees you, His beloved child.

Even when all you can do is simply be with Him, He loves you and He cherishes every moment. You are His beloved one, in whom He delights.

Prayer Warriors

I’m convinced some of the greatest in the Kingdom of God are those we’ve never heard of and who perhaps are often stuck at home unable to do much that seems worthy to the world.

Yet they pray. And pray. And pray. Then lean and lean some more into the King of kings. Perhaps you are one of these, beloved of God?

They are warriors in the Spirit, always interceding.

They may never see the results of their prayers this side of Heaven. Nonetheless, heaps of people touched by their intercession await them in a grand homecoming.

Your prayers are effective! What does His Word say?

“The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” James 5:16 (AMP)

When you feel there is nothing you can do for God, lean into Jesus and pray. Pray His Word and pray in the Spirit. Ask Him for His heart and pray, pray, pray.

You are affecting far more than you know for the Kingdom.

Hope Will Arise in You

Some of you may be experiencing pain, suffering and even hopelessness, perhaps for a long time. You may feel that you are at your breaking point or far beyond it. Hold on to Jesus. The Lord will come through for you, though it seems He has delayed.

“…we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Romans 5:3-5 (NKJV)

This seems backwards for what we might think. Don’t we need hope in order to persevere? But true hope is refined in the fires of trial, where it is harder to believe than in times of ease.

God’s hope never disappoints. Through the suffering you are experiencing, God is bringing forth the good of perseverance in your life. And through your perseverance, His heart and His character are being formed in you.

As you begin to see how He is working in you, the hope you so desperately need will begin to come forth. Hope arises within you because God’s love and tender care for you is being revealed as He gives His help, wisdom and understanding in your heart and life. You begin to experience what the Scriptures say: that the Holy Spirit has poured forth the Father’s love into your heart and it will never be taken away.

I know it isn’t at all easy as I share this, having gone through hopelessness, trials and pain as well, even at times to the point of wanting to simply be done with the earthly life and escape to be in Heaven with the Lord. It can be most difficult because in the midst hopelessness, it may seem that change will never come.  Continue reading

From Strength to Strength (Psalm 84)

You and I are called to a holy pursuit: the pursuit of friendship with God. Our goal? The closest possible relationship we can have with the Lord, even on this side of eternity. This is the center from which our lives and His Kingdom flow.

The Lord alone satisfies. As wants for success, love, and contentment surface in your life, keep this truth in mind. This truth is key to our pursuit of Jesus.

When we know worldly pursuits will never satisfy, we will more readily refuse to seek other things to meet our God-given longings. We will resolve within ourselves to stay steady on a pilgrimage of pursuit after God’s heart.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.
Psalm 84:5 (NKJV)

At times the yearning within your heart may make itself known with impatience and neediness as you say no to worldly ways, fleshly lust, and selfish pride. But simply remind your soul: Jesus is worth every self denial. He is worth the weeping, the aching, the waiting.

Keep going and don’t give up. Keep saying “yes” to this pilgrimage day by day, even through the failures and temptations. Get back up again and reset your face upon Jesus. Continue reading
