All Because of Love

The love Jesus has for us carries such weight that He left Heaven’s perfect atmosphere, free of suffering and lack, to deliver us. He left the place where He was never separated from His Father all because of love for us.

Jesus left Heaven’s home and clothed Himself as a child in humility. A baby cannot survive without its parents, and Jesus–fully God–also became fully man, subjecting Himself to this dire vulnerability.

All for love Christ faced need, weakness, hunger and humility. And then He faced pain, betrayal, persecution and suffering unto the death of the Cross.

Not simply by the pain of the Cross, but also by the life-taking blow of sin, Jesus went through the very worst of the worst compared to any other. It wasn’t that He experienced pain greater than all, but it was that He was the only one who would take upon Himself the sins of all that they may be free.

This was a burden no human could survive being placed upon them. It was the weight of sin that took His life. In willingly giving up His life the Father resurrected Him as the firstborn of the dead so that we too could reign in live with Him. Continue reading

God Sees Your Heart

The Lord your God is with you; He is mighty to save (Zephaniah 3:17). He sees your shortcomings, yet He always sees your heart. He says,

“I am your Strength even in weakness. I am your Hope in the storm. I am your Rear Guard and your Stronghold. Run to Me. Come to Me. Do not be afraid.

There is no shame anymore. There is no need for fear. I have perfected you in My love. It is done in Heaven, and in time you will walk it out more and more. You have been set free to call Me ‘Abba, Father.’ I am your Creator, your Father, your God.

You are My beloved always. Nothing can change that–no trial, no failure, no pain. Keep your ‘yes’ to Me and do not give up.

Keep coming to Me. When you fall, get back up again. Run to Me and not away. I await you each time with open arms, not with condemnation but with the desire to release forgiveness and set you free.

I am looking at your heart, My love. Come and rest in My love.

Scriptures for Reflection

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)

When Breakthrough Hasn’t Come

At times we may experience seasons of spiritual dryness in our journey with God. It may feel as if we are in a vast wilderness. Our prayers may seem to go without any answer. We may even feel as if God is absent.

The promises of yesterday may feel as if they weren’t true. The questions come and go: Will breakthrough ever come? Will I ever experience that healing? God may seem as if He doesn’t hear you or that He doesn’t even care.

But He does care. He sees you, beloved. He hears your heart cry.

If this is you, don’t give up. God has not abandoned you. He is with you even when you feel nothing; even when you have felt nothing for what seems like an eternity.

You aren’t being punished or forsaken. All is not lost.

Be encouraged. In this season, the Lord is calling you into a deeper place with Him. The wilderness that comes in the midst of your longing for Jesus is actually a gift.

Yes, a gift! This is an invitation from your Bridegroom King.

As you await the breakthrough, God’s love is purifying you. In this spiritual dryness, He is forming you into a purer vessel of His presence. His perfect leadership has brought you into a time of learning: Learning to walk by faith and not by what you feel.

It’s a difficult, narrow way, but I promise: it’s worth it. He’s worth it.

For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV)

When You Don’t Feel God’s Presence

You may be in a time in which God’s presence seems absence and His voice silent. Know that even though things may feel this way, God is working in and around you. You’re never alone, and He will never abandon you.

Father God is loving on you even still, and drawing you closer to Him in faith. Keep going in your pursuit. As you seek Him, you will reap His blessings. God desires to strengthen your heart to press onward even still.

Keep going in your pursuit. Don’t give up!

In the Word, God speaks that we walk by faith and not by sight. We don’t navigate through this journey based on what we see or feel, but by confidence in God and His promises to us:  for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]” (2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP).

Hebrews 11:6 goes on to define this more deeply:

But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.(AMP)

God truly rewards those who seek Him with diligence. This truth does not change even when we are not feeling His presence or experiencing His love in a way we can sense it emotionally. His heart for us never changes, and His love for us always remains.

He will make Himself known to you more, it’s a promise! This may not happen immediately, or even in a week, but He promises that when we seek Him, we will find Him:

Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13 AMP)

When You Don't Feel God's Presence
When you don’t feel God’s presence or hear His voice, speak forth the truths shared here over your soul and emotions.

Do not let your pursuit of Jesus be adversely affected by what you feel or don’t feel, but by God’s faithfulness.

Feed on the testimonies of His faithfulness in your life and those you love, trusting in God that as you delight in Him, He will fulfill your heart’s desires (Psalm 37:3-4). As you continue in your pursuit, even in the waiting, keep declaring out loud your heart’s one great aim just as King David did:

When You said, ‘Seek My face [in prayer, require My presence as your greatest need],’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face, O Lord, I will seek [on the authority of Your word].’ (Psalm 27:8 AMP)

As you sow into your pursuit of knowing Jesus more intimately, you are reaping of His Spirit of life, even though you may not yet see it in the natural. It’s a sure promise that you will reap what you have sown (Galatians 6:8); in fact, this is a truth that God Himself will not fail to act upon, for He does not lie.

The harvest within your heart is coming, as is the harvest of souls around you who you have impacted.

Though you do not perceive His presence, much more is happening in the spiritual realm of your life than you know. As you pray, angels are sent on assignment because God’s words do not return void (Isaiah 55:11).

Your hope placed in God will bring His response; He hears your cries and brings answers to your prayers. God’s heart is moved by your steadfast pursuit of His heart even in this “dark night of the soul” and He loves to be with you as you seek Him.

Do not allow despair to drown you in hopelessness, discouragement or depression. Keep pressing into God’s heart without wavering, knowing full well that He is beautifying His most precious garden inside of you!

Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Romans 5:5 AMP)

He Knows You & Your Days

I do not have everything perfect in my life. I have struggles and sin just like everyone else. Sometimes I get frustrated and lose my patience with those I love, and I react in ways that are not pleasing to God.

Just yesterday I walked through this type of situation. Afterward I became so upset with myself because of how I responded. I put myself in a sort of time-out from God, not even sure He would want to talk to me. Of course I know this is not true, but it was how I felt because of my failure. I was letting the fact that I fell short block out my ability to receive the truth of God’s love for me.

It was hard to hear His voice while dwelling on how I felt like a failure. Though I am growing in leaps and bounds in other areas of my life in God, in this area I sometimes mess up so badly and it causes me pain.

Deep down I know without a doubt that God’s love never changes toward me, and today He spoke to me what I shared above, that He already knew the challenge I was going to face during this season of my life, and He loves me the same. He hears my heart and He knows that I want to please Him even though I failed the day before.

God speaks the same to you too. He sees your heart and He knew every decision you would ever make. He already knew you would be where you are today and He loves you. He has chosen you and He calls you His own beautiful and anointed son or daughter.

So can you relate to this? Share some of your thoughts below.

Your eyes saw my unformed substance,
and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written
before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.

(Psalm 139:16 AMP)
