Filled Up With God

Here are some highlights from today’s message at church. I pray these will spur you on in seeking to know Jesus more and live for Him.

“And don’t get drunk with wine, which [leads to] reckless actions,
but be filled with the Spirit:
speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs,
singing and making music to the Lord in your heart,
giving thanks always for everything to God the Father
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.”

(Ephesians 5:18-21)

“What is filling your life that is keeping you from the fullness of God?”
God, empty us of all that’s not of You, & fill us fully with You.

Worship is who we are. Are we giving that worship to God or to ourselves and other things?

When we’re truly filled to the fullness with God, we will live lives of worship to Him.

The song of each our hearts from God is the song of one redeemed, a song birthed and alive in the heart of one filled fully with God!

“You have to be in the desert to enjoy the water.” Read Psalm 63 – David knew the desert, and he knew God’s glory.

Being filled with God is being fully satisfied in Him and by Him alone. Only He satisfies, nothing and no one else can.

Only the fullness of God will do, not a little, not a bit here and there, only FULLNESS!

Our life passions should be God, His Kingdom, living like Christ, fully knowing Him and being filled wholly with His Spirit.

May we seek true satisfaction in the only One who truly satisfies. Ask Him to empty you of all that is not of Him, and fill you to overflowing with Him! I pray He will do just that for all of us and that we will continually grow in knowing Him intimately.

Unless You Repent

At church our interim pastor shared from the letter to the church at Ephesus:

“…I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place–unless you repent.
(Revelation 2:4-5)

My heart is heavy yet hopeful, knowing God will have His way with or without us. I can’t truly say what I’m feeling today is of me, because I too need God to change me tremendously, and think I could actually be feeling God’s own grief over us as a church! (I’m personally asking God to give me His heart and passion, and to continually show me my part in His purposes.)

This fall I had a vision in which I saw God touchdown on our church, and something like two shockwaves rushed out from it. One wave went out around the church itself, and the second went out through our city.

I feel God has said this is what He wants, but that this won’t be unless we humble ourselves and repent, fervently praying and seeking His face. This feels imminent!

If it doesn’t come I feel God is saying to us in even His indescribable grace and mercy:

“I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place–unless you repent.”
(Revelation 2:5)

To Single Daughters/Sons of God

“There is a kind of man who curses his father
And does not bless his mother.
There is a kind who is pure in his own eyes,
Yet is not washed from his filthiness.
There is a kind–oh how lofty are his eyes!
And his eyelids are raised in arrogance.
There is a kind of man whose teeth are like swords
And his jaw teeth like knives,
To devour the afflicted from the earth
And the needy from among men.

(Proverbs 30:11-14 NASB)

Daughters of the living God, I beseech you:
Stay away from men such as these! As you await the godly husband the Lord has planned for you, trust God and know His Word! Fix your eyes wholly on Christ and let God guide your every step! Throw yourself into the only relationship that will satisfy–your relationship with Christ! A man worthy of a woman of God is one who is wholly focused on Christ alone.

Sons of the living God, I beseech you:
As you await the godly wife the Lord has planned for you, trust God and know His Word! Throw yourself into the only relationship that will satisfy–your relationship with Christ! Fix your eyes wholly on God, and He will take care of the rest, bringing a godly woman focused on the Lord into your life.

“…your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously,
and He will give you everything you need.”

(Matthew 6:32b-33 NLT)

Living Worship Is…

Living Worship :

  • God revealed to us.
  • God exalted by us.
  • God encountered by us.
  • God invading our hearts.
  • God transforming our lives.
  • God moving us to reach others.
  • God revealed to others.
  • God exalted by us and others… and on and on and…

God being worshiped by us in a never-ending cycle!

God’s Fortress of Strength

Do you need freedom from the worries and stresses of this life? Do you need strength? It is in God alone that we find true strength and freedom from the burdens we needlessly carry. Through God we have strength, protection and freedom.

…the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.
(Nehemiah 8:10)

  • “Strength” in this verse means “a fortified place, fortress, stronghold”
  • The dictionary definition of “fortress” reveals more deeply what it means to have God as our strength and fortress:
    • “a heavily protected and impenetrable building”
    • “a person or thing not susceptible to outside influence or disturbance”

Wow! With God as our strength, we can truly embrace living as one who is “heavily protected” and “impenetrable”“a person…not susceptible to outside influence or disturbance” and instead be a person living by the Holy Spirit, who lives in us and guides us as followers of Christ.

The Lord is my Light and my Salvation–whom shall I fear or dread?
The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life–of whom shall I be afraid?

(Psalm 27:1)

In Christ alone we are strong. During these end times, let us trust in our mighty God who will guard and protect us even when we experience fear or are burdened by life’s trials and challenges.
