One of my greatest passions is to be part of what God is doing on this side of eternity. I am a worshiper and an intercessor, serving in a prayer room weekly. Our prayer room may have only a few open hours five days each week, but across the world, prayer and worship continue around the clock, 24 hours a day and seven days a week in some locations.
The heart and mission of houses of prayer, prayer rooms and Burn 24/7 furnaces is not new. Worship and prayer gatherings ranging from occasional gatherings to full 24/7 meeting places are not just a thing of our current time. At various times and seasons, this has been a reality far before our time.

One of my passions is prayer and helping others grow in prayer. I want to share two keys to effective prayer.
There are many resources such as prayer journals to help us pray more. But with these resources in hand, how do we pray effectively? How do we engage in prayer that is also enjoyable? After all, a simple “save Richard” or “help Susie not to doubt” gets repetitive and even boring after awhile. We want to pray specifically and with our hearts all in.
Beyond any other tool, our greatest resources for prayer are God’s Spirit and God’s Word.
We must pray in agreement with God. We want to avoid praying our own opinions, agendas or ideas. Instead, we must follow the leadership of God’s Spirit and seek His Word.
It says in 1 John 5:14-15 that we have confidence in God if we ask according to His will. We can actually know that He hears our prayers and that He will answer them. So how can we learn to pray His will? Continue reading →
Everything we do must be saturated in worship and prayer. We worship our God because He is worthy of it. Christ Jesus is worthy of worship-filled hearts given fully in relationship with Him. We are called to make Him the priority in whatever sphere of influence He calls us, living a lifestyle of intimacy with Jesus.
All else is secondary to this relationship, whether intercessory prayer, good deeds or His Kingdom’s expansion. Truly all else we do for God that has any life must flow from intimacy with Him and exalting Him to the highest place in our worship. Continue reading →
Trello is a versatile app for organization, team work, planning and more. It has a myriad of uses: planning a wedding or special celebration; organizing a move or trip; lesson plans or sermon prep; collaborating with a team for work or ministry; and many more!
It’s one of my most used apps! My uses for it include:
A Weekly & Monthly Planner
Meal Planning (including checklists for ingredients and cost)
Worship Planning (new song rotation, song lists, etc.)
Social Media Management
Work Project Management
You can even find lots of Trello Board “templates” to copy to your own account as a new board, or just to get ideas for ways you can use the app.
Trello is available for phones and tablets, and has a web-based interface for computers. It syncs across all your devices as well and the best part: It’s free for most features you would need.
Have you ever felt as if everything was going opposite the Lord’s promises? Have you felt like throwing in the towel, wondering if you’ve missed it because nothing worthwhile seems to be happening anymore?
What comes to the surface can lead to a valuable searching of our hearts. As the house of prayer where I lead worship goes through a challenging season, God has brought some motive-searching questions to mind:
Are we doing this to exalt God who is worthy of worship or to grow in number?
Will we pray and serve simply because we want His will to be done and His Son to be glorified?
