God Desires to Bless Us

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:19-21 NASB)

God Desires to Bless Us
God desires to bless us abundantly beyond all we could dream up. He wants to pour out upon us from His treasury and heart, yet many of us have been trying of our own strength and knowledge to protect our lives from loss and hardship.

Recently I was awakened in the early morning hours and unable to sleep. Not so ironically, I found a large hole in our sheets when I awoke. I knew it had not been there before, but it was too large to have happened so quickly. As I got up, giving up on going back to sleep, the above verse from Matthew 6 came to mind.

I felt God saying that blessings were coming, that they were hovering over us, ready to be released, but that I needed to repent for trying to protect us from lack in a natural way instead of trusting in Him and consulting Him first. This was an additional emphasis on what the Lord has been saying to us through others recently, with a message that came during a Prophetic Roundtable held for our region. Father God is so good to remind us of what He wants to communicate, pushing His truth and love deeper into our hearts.

We must seek not to store up for our own protection or gain, hoping to avoid calamity and loss. We need to trust our good, good Father to provide for us as our great Shepherd and Provider. We need to seek Him in our preparation and life choices, obeying what He leads us to do and pursuing Him wholeheartedly. He promised to Israel that His plans for them were for a hope and a future, not for calamity or evil, and this He spoke to them (as was recently pointed out to me) in the very midst of their captivity (Jeremiah 29:4-14)! So too, He cares for us who have called upon the name of His Son Jesus.

Above all our vision must be one with His: To store up treasures in Heaven and to partner with Him in expanding His Kingdom on the earth. As we seek first His Kingdom and righteousness, we must believe the promise He has made to us that when we do so, all else will be added unto us:

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33 NASB)

During the Roundtable a few weeks back, the Lord spoke these truths to us through the above Scriptures as well as through the book of Haggai from the Old Testament (I highly recommend reading the entire book in its two chapter entirety during this season):

You look for much, but behold, it comes to little; when you bring it home, I blow it away. Why?” declares the Lord of hosts, “Because of My house which lies desolate, while each of you runs to his own house. (Haggai 1:9 NASB)

This is a very good season in which the Lord has brought this truth to a deeper place in our hearts, and so let each of us ask, seeking His answer and obeying what He says:  What is my part in helping to building Your house and seek Your Kingdom first? And expect to be blessed beyond what you already have been, seeing the signs and wonders following you as you go forth with Jesus’ heart and vision!

To Be Possessed by God

We want to be so possessed by God that we live out of His heart and thoughts, not our own. We want to be laid down lovers of God, as Heidi Baker of Iris Ministries expresses this.

Our number one focus must be intimacy with God (relationship), and living as ones who seek first His kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33). May we be a people of one thing:

“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.” (Psalm 27:4 AMP)

Our words, our worship and our prayers are far more powerful than we realize.

The Lord has such a calling on our lives to be vessels of His presence in this world, bringing His love and truth to others. We can change the atmosphere as His people, bringing His light, hope, truth and love into every situation.

When we speak His words, they are powerful in bringing life and bringing change! We are called as ambassadors to further His Kingdom on the earth as it is in Heaven.

Put on Love

As representatives of Jesus in this world, we must share the truth in love and not wound our own. We must be careful not to even come to conclusions or assumptions before we have all the information. Above all, we must remember that God alone knows each and every heart, and we must put on love:

Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive]. And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony].” (Colossians 3:13-14 AMP)

When we love and bless even those who don’t have everything right (and probably we do not either!), their hearts will be convicted by God’s Spirit and touched by His love.

The Lord is faithful to answer when we pray for Him to change their hearts or work in a particular situation. They will be more willing to hear what we have to share from the Lord, possibly even being set free by His love and truth.

Let us go on to be lovers of God in every way: How we interact with Him and others, how we think and speak, and how we walk and act.

Vessels of Heaven on Earth

Do you know who you are? You’re called to be a carrier of God’s presence upon the earth, an ambassador of God’s Kingdom. You are filled with God’s Spirit, full of His hope, love, truth and life.

If you belong to Jesus, you have been given God’s Spirit and power. (If you do not have a relationship with Jesus, you can give your life to Him and receive His Spirit!) You have access to all of God’s heart and all of His resources in Heaven. You are a son or daughter of the Most High God, with a destiny ordained by God, a greater purpose than you could ever imagine. You are a vessel of Heaven upon this earth.

First, let me share some background information. When God created Adam, God gave him authority over the Garden. Adam had yet to know sin, disease or evil. Adam walked and talked with God each day with no hindrance between them.

Unfortunately, Adam and his wife Eve were tempted to eat the fruit of a tree God had told them not to, as He sought to keep them pure from the knowledge of good and evil, desiring them to eat only the fruit of the Tree of Life. But God wanted to allow them to choose: Would they trust His best and His love, or would they desire to know what they thought was something they were missing out on?

Adam and Eve, deceived by the devil, ate of the tree that would open them up to evil, sin, death and disease, though they were meant to be vessels of life, purity, and God. They also forfeited their authority when they went with the enemy’s suggestion to disobey their Creator, giving it to the devil.

Thankfully, the Father had a plan, eventually sending His Son Jesus to take on the form of man though fully God, all to make the way for us to have an unhindered love relationship with God again, taking away our sin and its penalty of death. He also took back the authority the Father had given man in the Garden, sharing it with us who believe and have surrendered our lives to Him.

Because we now share in the authority Jesus has and have God’s Spirit within us, we as His Bride must use the authority He gave us to “enforce” things on earth to be as they are in Heaven, in partnership with Jesus. In Heaven there is no sin, no disease, no lack, no death. We declare healing over the sick, we overcome temptation to sin, we trust God as our Provider and more, all by the power of His Spirit living inside us.

As the Word of God says, “the Kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21 NKJV). We are vessels of Heaven upon this earth, ambassadors for the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:20), that God’s Kingdom come and His will be done on earth just as it is in Heaven!

“So we are Christ’s ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us. We [as Christ’s personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor [now offered you] and be reconciled to God.”
(2 Corinthians 5:20 AMP)

How does knowing you are a vessel of Heaven on earth impact you? Share your thoughts.

To Single Daughters/Sons of God

“There is a kind of man who curses his father
And does not bless his mother.
There is a kind who is pure in his own eyes,
Yet is not washed from his filthiness.
There is a kind–oh how lofty are his eyes!
And his eyelids are raised in arrogance.
There is a kind of man whose teeth are like swords
And his jaw teeth like knives,
To devour the afflicted from the earth
And the needy from among men.

(Proverbs 30:11-14 NASB)

Daughters of the living God, I beseech you:
Stay away from men such as these! As you await the godly husband the Lord has planned for you, trust God and know His Word! Fix your eyes wholly on Christ and let God guide your every step! Throw yourself into the only relationship that will satisfy–your relationship with Christ! A man worthy of a woman of God is one who is wholly focused on Christ alone.

Sons of the living God, I beseech you:
As you await the godly wife the Lord has planned for you, trust God and know His Word! Throw yourself into the only relationship that will satisfy–your relationship with Christ! Fix your eyes wholly on God, and He will take care of the rest, bringing a godly woman focused on the Lord into your life.

“…your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously,
and He will give you everything you need.”

(Matthew 6:32b-33 NLT)
