Vessels of the Father’s Love

Father God has given us each a free will. He has given us a beautiful choice to show love and honor to Him and others. Most often, we think we do this pretty well. Nonetheless, our hearts still contain impurities revealing self-focus and unhealed wounds.

Learned behaviors we thought were normal affect our daily lives. Ingrained habits plague us. We raise our voices at our children or siblings. We avoid those who rub us wrong. Or perhaps we find ourselves doing things to fulfill the need to be useful, or we assert ourselves wrongly to feel in control. Maybe we busy ourselves to avoid painful emotions.

Even in the many struggles we have, Father God is working to refine us into vessels of His love as we yield to Him.

We want to be ones who seek the heart of God, showing selfless love to all who we come near. Jesus confirmed this call. When asked about the most weighty of the Commandments, He said that loving God with all and loving others are the two from which all others stem (Matthew 22:36-40).

We realize our attempts to love remain tainted with self-serving. Showing love and honor is not automatic. Because of our tendencies toward selfishness and sin, we must seek to be intentional. We must be mindful of those around us.

If we ask, Father God will reveal ingrained behaviors and help us replace them with the fruits of the Holy Spirit. We must seek to be a blessing in every situation. It will take allowing Him to show us the depths of our souls.

Hope Will Arise in You

Some of you may be experiencing pain, suffering and even hopelessness, perhaps for a long time. You may feel that you are at your breaking point or far beyond it. Hold on to Jesus. The Lord will come through for you, though it seems He has delayed.

“…we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Romans 5:3-5 (NKJV)

This seems backwards for what we might think. Don’t we need hope in order to persevere? But true hope is refined in the fires of trial, where it is harder to believe than in times of ease.

God’s hope never disappoints. Through the suffering you are experiencing, God is bringing forth the good of perseverance in your life. And through your perseverance, His heart and His character are being formed in you.

As you begin to see how He is working in you, the hope you so desperately need will begin to come forth. Hope arises within you because God’s love and tender care for you is being revealed as He gives His help, wisdom and understanding in your heart and life. You begin to experience what the Scriptures say: that the Holy Spirit has poured forth the Father’s love into your heart and it will never be taken away.

I know it isn’t at all easy as I share this, having gone through hopelessness, trials and pain as well, even at times to the point of wanting to simply be done with the earthly life and escape to be in Heaven with the Lord. Our Last Breath: Destiny & Love

What will happen to you when you take your last breath? Have you ever wondered?

This question must be asked of yourself and you must know whether you can live with the true answer.

Will you wish you’d done things differently, everything in your life and destiny? Will you find out who God made you to be was completely different than the person you became, that the person you lived as was actually the devil’s destiny for you and not God’s? Will you find you had all your life believed a lie and discover you will now suffer eternally for that wrong choice?

We were made for great purpose: To be loved by God and to love in return. God, Father of all of us, this One who longs for great destiny for us, wants abundant life for us. God’s heart is to extend mercy not sacrifice, desiring to protect us from the enemy’s destiny for us (suffering, death, bondage and addiction to ways of life and choices said to be okay by the world but ways that in reality will lead to pain, suffering and heartache in the end).

Your Last Breath: Destiny & Love
All will die once prior to their life in eternity. The deciding factor is whether we choose to believe that Jesus alone is our salvation and if we then made Him the Lord over our lives, seeking to live solely for Him and to love as He loves, fighting against temptation to evil and sin because of love for Him and others.

Choose life, choose true love, God’s love, not a worldly passion that is merely a mask for bondage to the devil, the very enemy of your souls who wants to destroy your life. Satan is not your friend and does not cares for you a bit. God alone cares most, He who gave His Son for our freedom from the wiles of the devil and from our sin nature.

I pray that Father God will open your eyes today even if you do not yet know Him as someone who loves you and wants the best for you more than anyone else. May you see that evil forces do exist in this world and want to do all they can to keep you from your true destiny.

God desires a far greater destiny for you than you could make happen. He has such plans for you and I ask that He give you dreams of those very plans and helps you fulfill them against any opposition that would try to prevent them. Jesus loves you. Ask Him to show you who He truly is and He surely will.

A Growing Passion for LIFE

Over the last several weeks, my passion for LIFE and to see people awaken to the tragedy of abortion is growing rapidly. Honestly, I didn’t quite understand how it was happening myself.

I have been drawn like a magnet to Bound4LIFE’s blog and to prayer. I have been longing for our local Bound4LIFE chapter to begin having silent sieges again, which is a silent prayer meeting in front of either an abortion clinic where we put red tape on our mouths with the word “LIFE” and pray for the ending of abortion, revival in our nation, and the healing of those affected by abortion. (Just a note: The current head of our local chapter has scheduled a siege this month!)

I began thinking also of my friend Mandie, who was previously the head of the local Bound4LIFE chapter in our area, who was killed by a drunk driver two years ago. I get some sneaking suspicion that she has been beckoning Jesus to give me a greater passion to pray concerning the issue of LIFE. :) Of course, I myself have asked God to give me this passion before, and He is answering this prayer relating to this cry in His own heart.

At this moment, I want to share some things that have come to my attention, praying that others will see the true reality of why LIFE is the only way of truth in the matter. A baby is a human being at conception, and I do not believe anyone can rightly reason themselves out of this truth. A baby does not get to choose the timing or circumstances of their conception or coming birth. At conception, God breathes life into the child (Psalm 139:13-16), the choice of the parent cannot do this.

Why should not a baby also have the right to live the life that God Himself has given the child to live? No person should decide whether a baby will be allowed to be born or to take from them the opportunity to live out the dreams and destiny that their life will unfold and that God has in store. (And for the parent(s) that chooses life, this child is apart of their destiny and dreams as well.)

Tonight I am specifically praying for our nation’s leaders and people, that they will be moved by God’s love for them and how He gave them life and wants all to have life without it being snuffed out before they have the chance.

I pray that they see that the devil is the one who kills, steals and destroys, but Jesus came to give LIFE abundant and desires all to have life. (Abortion not only hurts the child being aborted, but also the mother and others involved in many ways, and the devil knows it.)

I thank God for those who have had to suffer abortions themselves, and have been healed and set free by God, His love and His truth. I pray God will heal those who need healing from abortion’s effects in the lives.

I am also praying that all will remember our nation’s Declaration of Independence, and realize that abortion violates the right to LIFE stated in it:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among those are LIFE, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
(The United States Declaration of Independence)

May our nation’s people and leaders be moved by God’s heart that every child, even in the womb, have the right of LIFE, not the threat and finality of abortion, which would leave them with a life taken from them, unable to be lived; a destiny and dreams never getting to be realized.

Who knows what those children who have been lost could have accomplished in this world–becoming those who help, cherish, lead, teach, encourage and love, those who might bring even more LIFE to our world’s needs concerning poverty, ending world hunger, cures for diseases, and even more.

Our Heavenly Father: The Best in Existence

Any true shepherd would go after even one of his sheep that was lost. And wouldn’t any father or mother search for their lost child in the marketplace until they were found?

And so we can know that God is a Dad unlike any other: He’s the best and most perfect parent in existence! God would search harder and longer and farther for even just one of His children than any human being could or would. He would go to more lengths than any. In fact, He did!

God went so far to rescue the very ones He created that He sacrificed His Son to save us. He so loved the world that He sent Jesus to take away our sin and give us eternal life (John 3:16-17). He so loved! He made you to love you. But He doesn’t force you to love Him back. He loves you even though there was nothing you could do to save yourself or be able to love Him back, so He did it for you: He sacrificed His Son out of His love for you.

“All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. But God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, he freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins. God sent Christ to be our sacrifice. Christ offered his life’s blood, so that by faith in him we could come to God…” (Romans 3:23-25)

He loves you so much that He wants you to have eternal life and a relationship with Him. He wants to pour out all His infinite love on you. But because we all fall short of perfection–every single one of us has sinned (committed wrong) against God, others and even ourselves–and we are separated from God by our sin. But  because of Jesus, you will be saved if you:

  1. Ask God to forgive all of your sins and genuinely repent (turn away) from sin and turn to God.
  2. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and:
  3. Believe in your heart that you’ve been set free from sin because Jesus died on the cross to take away our sins, and then He was raised again from death to life by God.

Then you are saved and have become one of God’s children! Share it with someone–you’ve made the best decision of your life! Connect with other believers and a local church to help you grow as a believer and child of God. And remember that God will never forsake or leave His children, not even when we pass away from this life, but we will have eternal life with Him forever and have relationship with Him now! At that time of salvation we are also given God’s Holy Spirit as our Helper, who guides us who believe in living rightly for God according to His Word, His will and His ways as we walk by faith in God. By His Spirit, He also teaches us His truth, helps us to love others as He loves, and pours out His own love into our hearts.

We have an awesome and compassionate heavenly Dad who loves us! Our God who longs for those who don’t know Him to turn from evil and be brought into a relationship with Him so that He can love them and love them and love them! And so He can give them TRUE LIFE – the truest of life that comes only from Him!

With love God’s arms are outstretched to you. A smile on His face and compassion flowing from His heart, He awaits the joyful moment in which you will be in His embrace!

Come to Him, all you who long for love that will never leave you lonely. Come to Him, all you who long to truly belong. Come to Him, all you who are weary, longing to be made whole.

God loves you with an everlasting love. You are His, and He paid the highest price of love for you. He knows your struggles, troubles and fears, and He longs to take your burdens upon Himself. God is the one who will truly satisfy your emptiness. He longs to give you His unfailing love, true peace and unending joy.
